Signature site service terms
Last updated: 28 October 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms are between SoundOps Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17540783, whose registered office is at 19 Finders Quay, Manchester, M4 6AB, United Kingdom ("SoundOps", "we", "us", "our"), and the person or business that orders a signature site build from us ("you", "your").
They cover a signature site build: a bespoke website we design and build with you and run on SoundOps. They also cover any other service we sell you under them, such as set-up help, unless we agree different terms in writing for that service.
Your SoundOps plan (the monthly or yearly subscription for your account) is separate. It is covered by our platform Terms at soundops.io/terms. A build is never part of your plan, and paying for one never changes your plan's price. If these terms and the platform Terms disagree about a build, these terms apply.
2. Words we use
- Build: the signature site work you order (a Signature Page, a custom quote, or a size we sold before 28 October 2026) for the fee shown on your offer or when you signed up.
- Package: what your build includes, as listed on your offer and on the Site build page in your admin.
- Briefing call: the first call, where we learn about your music, your audience and what you want the site to do. Work starts with the briefing call.
- Concept designs: the designs we draw for you after the briefing call, before anything is built.
- Round of revisions: one set of changes you ask for, collected together, which we make in one go.
- Launch: the day your new site goes live.
- Bug: something that does not work as agreed, such as a broken link, a scene that does not play where it should, or a layout that breaks on a phone.
3. What your build includes
Every build includes:
- a briefing call;
- bespoke concept designs, shown to you on a private preview link before we build;
- two rounds of revisions;
- the build itself, as a SoundOps site you can edit yourself, with a plain accessible version and phone layouts;
- bug fixes free of charge for 30 days after launch.
Your offer lists what else your package includes (for example the number of film pages, scenes and designed page layouts). We agree a timetable with you on the briefing call.
A build needs an active SoundOps plan for as long as the site runs, because the site and its media live on your account and count against its storage.
4. Revisions, bugs and work outside your package
- Revisions. Each round of revisions beyond the two included costs £500. We tell you before starting a round that will be charged, and you can decide not to go ahead.
- Bugs. For 30 days after launch we fix bugs free of charge. A change to the agreed design is a revision, not a bug.
- Work outside your package. Work that is not in your package is charged at £500 a day. We quote it before we start, and we only start once you have agreed the quote.
- Extra work after the build. Anything you want added after your build is paid for (more pages, more scenes, new features) is quoted separately and, if you agree, invoiced separately. It is not added to your build's payments.
5. Price and paying
- The price. Your build's fee is the one on your offer. It is the total you pay: we are not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added.
- Paying once or monthly. You can pay the fee in one payment, or spread the cost over 12 monthly payments. The 12 payments add up to exactly the same total as paying once. There is no interest, no fee and no other charge for paying monthly, and no discount for paying at once.
- When you pay. You pay the whole fee, or the first monthly payment, before work starts. If your site is a new one we built as a preview, it goes live as soon as that payment is made, not before.
- Your card. If you pay monthly, the card you pay with is saved for the remaining 11 payments, which we take on the same day each month. You can change the card at any time from the Site build page in your admin. Your plan's card is never changed.
- Paying off early. You can pay the rest of the fee at any time with "Pay the rest" on the Site build page.
- Your plan. Cancelling your plan does not cancel what you still owe for your build. You cannot delete your account while money is owed for a build.
6. If a monthly payment is missed
This applies to monthly payments 2 to 12. (The first payment, or the whole fee, is always taken before work starts.)
- On the day a payment fails we email you, with a link to pay and a link to change your card, and a note appears in your admin. Stripe, our payment provider, may also email you.
- On days 3 and 7 we try your card again automatically.
- On day 7 we email you the date your site will be paused, and on day 13 we remind you that it will be paused the next day.
- On day 14, if the payment is still unpaid, your whole site is paused until you pay what is overdue. This applies to every client, whether you are a business or not.
- Paying everything overdue lifts the pause within about a minute. You can pay at any time, on any day, from the link in our emails or the Site build page.
The days are counted from the day the payment was due or, if later, the day it was first tried.
What a pause does:
- visitors to your site see a neutral "temporarily unavailable" page that says nothing about money;
- your shop, checkout, promo pages, smart links, embeds, galleries, calendar feed and sitemap are unavailable;
- marketing emails and messages (campaigns, scheduled promos, automations that are not transactional, release reminders) are held and do not go out;
- in your admin you can still pay, change your card, see Site build and Usage & Billing, contact support and see your profile.
What a pause does not touch:
- nothing is deleted: your content, data, contacts, orders, domain and plan are all kept;
- people who are owed something can still reach it: ticket pages and door check-in, downloads already bought, booking links, every unsubscribe, preference and data-rights link, short links in texts already sent, and your privacy, terms and cookies pages;
- transactional messages (receipts, tickets, order updates) keep going out, and messages already queued are sent;
- your plan carries on as normal, and is billed as normal.
A pause is not a cancellation, and paying lifts it. If a payment stays unpaid, we may also contact you to agree a way forward.
7. Refunds and cancelling
- Before work starts. Your build is refundable in full until work starts, which is the briefing call. Tell us at support@soundops.io and we refund what you have paid.
- After work starts. Once the briefing call has taken place, the build fee is not refundable, except under the 14-day right below or where the law says otherwise. If you pay monthly, the remaining payments stay due.
- The 14-day right (consumers only). If you are buying as a consumer (wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day you agreed to the build, without giving a reason. If you ask us to start work (the briefing call) within those 14 days, you confirm that request when you agree to these terms, and if you then cancel within the 14 days you pay for the work we have done up to the moment you tell us, in proportion to the whole build, and we refund the rest. To cancel, email support@soundops.io with your name, your site's address and the words "I want to cancel my build". You can use the model cancellation form below, but you do not have to.
- Our money-back guarantee does not apply to builds. The 14-day money-back guarantee in our platform Terms covers your first plan subscription payment only. It does not cover signature builds, set-up help or other services, which have their own refund terms (these ones).
Nothing in this section affects your legal rights if what we deliver is not as agreed or not done with reasonable care and skill.
8. What you supply
- You send us the material the site uses: your logos, artwork, photos, videos, music, words and details of your releases, artists and events.
- You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, everything you supply, and that our using it to build and run your site will not break anyone else's rights. If someone else's rights are involved (a photographer, a designer, a label, a venue), getting their permission is up to you.
- You give us permission to use what you supply to build, run and look after your site.
- If you supply music for a film's soundtrack, you confirm you hold the rights for it to play on your site. Our admin asks you to confirm this before a soundtrack plays.
9. Who owns what, and what happens if you leave
- Your own material stays yours. Everything you supplied remains yours, during the build and after it.
- Media made for you. Once your build is paid in full, the media we made specifically for your site (for example images, renders, videos and frame sequences we produced for it) is yours to keep and use, on SoundOps or anywhere else. Until it is paid in full, you may use it only on your SoundOps site.
- The engine stays ours. Your film and your site run on SoundOps. The SoundOps platform, its code, its film engine, its sections and blocks, its templates and its tools stay ours, including any new section or block we create while building your site, which we may offer to other SoundOps users. We never give another client your content, your media or your look as a preset without your written agreement.
- If you leave SoundOps, your film stops with your account, because it runs on the SoundOps platform and cannot be taken elsewhere. You keep your own material and, if your build is paid in full, the media made for you; ask us for a copy before you close your account. We keep an archive copy of your site's media for 12 months after your account ends, then delete it.
- Leaving does not cancel what you still owe for your build (section 5).
10. Showing your site as our work
We may show your site, and pictures or recordings of it, as an example of our work: on soundops.io (including our showcase), in our marketing and in proposals to other clients. We say it was built by SoundOps. You can ask us to stop at any time by emailing support@soundops.io, and we will stop using it in anything new and take it off our website.
11. Our responsibility to you
- We carry out the build with reasonable care and skill, and as described in your package.
- Our total liability to you for a build, whatever the cause, is limited to the build fee you paid us for it.
- We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, opportunity or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away your statutory rights.
- Your plan and the platform itself are covered by the platform Terms, including their own limit of liability. The two limits are separate.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version you agreed to when you ordered your build applies to that build. We tell you by email before a change that affects a build you have already ordered, and a change never raises its fee.
13. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
